ABOUT GRANT'S CLASS
Explore the potential of working with hot glass as a sculptural medium!
This class will focus on using both solid and blown sculpting techniques to create animals and animal-inspired sculptures. We will bring sculptures to life using a variety of torches and sculpting techniques, which include solid sculpting, inside sculpting, assembly of parts, color application, kiln use, and - most importantly - teamwork.
Problem solving will be emphasized, and students are encouraged to bring images of inspiration.
Class will run from 9am- 5:30pm each day.
Limit 6 students.
Beginners welcome, but must have at least 1-year glass blowing experience.
$3600/ person.
All tools and materials will be provided. However, if you want to bring your own to use, feel free to do so.
ABOUT ERIN'S CLASS
Learn to create botanical glass sculptures with borosilicate glass on the torch!
Students will learn techniques for constructing leaves, flowers, vines, and other flora. Color application and assembly techniques, including bridging, will be covered. As well as, how to safely and effectively use studio tools such as hot torches and sculpting tools and how to apply colour to create realistic-looking botanical sculptures.
Each day will include demonstration and ample student work time. Beginners welcome.
Classes will run from 9:30-5pm each day.
Limit of 6 students.
$3500/per person.
All tools and materials will be provided. However, if you want to bring your own to use, feel free to do so. A discount will apply to whoever chooses to bring their own torch setup.
