April 21-27: Fabiano Zanchi Italian Chandelier Making Class at Dragon Ranch

  • Garmezy Glass, LLC Henrico, Virginia, 23231 USA (map)

The April 21-27 course is full. Please refer to the May 1-7 course for availability.

Embark on an extraordinary journey with Fabiano Zanchi, a third-generation maestro renowned for his expertise in crafting authentic Italian chandeliers. Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of Venetian chandelier design and fabrication through a comprehensive six-day course.

Throughout this immersive experience, participants will delve into a range of techniques, from creating hollow blown lighting elements to crafting intricate adornments such as flowers, leaves, and decorative elements. The course covers the art of coldworking these components, assembling them onto a chandelier frame, and expertly installing lighting elements.

Participants will receive a chandelier assembly kit, featuring a three-light metal frame, a plastering kit, and all necessary electrical wiring and bulbs. The workshop provides ample supplies, including glass and color, and ensures that participants are well-fed with provided daily lunches, snacks, and two dinners during the week.

This transformative workshop takes place at the Garmezy Glass studio, affectionately known as Dragon Ranch, situated at the home of Grant Garmezy in Richmond, Virginia. Please note that this location is also the home to two dogs and a cat, and unfortunately the studio is not ADA accessible. While lodging is not included, we will offer recommendations for accommodations in the vicinity.

We cannot wait for you to join us for a unique opportunity to learn from a master craftsman and create your own chandelier in a vibrant and inspiring setting.

Workshop cost is $2,500, which includes all necessary materials and supplies to create your own three-light chandelier.
